Hi! We’re Barb and Steve Barry, fledgling full time RVers – well sort of. It’s been an amazing journey since we first decided to become “full timers” 2 years ago. Inspired by our heroes, John and Kathy Huggins at Living The RV Dream podcast and blog, we finally made the plunge and purchased our rig, a 2005 Newmar Kountry Star, from Lazy Days in Tampa.
Armed with an 18″ square box, “the RV owner’s starter kit” it quickly became apparent that this was someone’s idea of a joke -the starter kit that would allow you to make it through your first night as long as you didn’t have to use the bathroom.
I began to read through a number of books, including John and Kathy’s wonderful new book, “So You Want to be an RVer”. We realized quickly that most of the writers had spent a number of years RVing and forgot just a little bit, what it was like to start with zero – as in experience, knowledge and supplies.
We started this blog in the hope that it may fill in the blanks for someone brand spanking new to RVing and full timing. We’ve learned a lot very quickly and we hope that you enjoy living our journey with us as we muddle through with not much plan in place beyond next week. We’re so excited to start our new adventure. It’s been an amazing several months so far with some incredible experiences to pass along and we know it will just get better and better. Thanks for tuning in!
